Super Cyclone Amphan – Expected to weaken from here but will still cross with sustain winds of 170 km/hr and gusts of over 200 km/hr and will have a storm surge of 4-5 mts. Kolkatta will see winds of 75 to 100 km/hr and heavy rains on Wednesday.

Meanwhile Super Cyclone Amphan is moving up and crossing Vishakapattinam latitude right now. Its undergoing a ERC – Eye wall replacement cycle, common with intense cyclone so it weakens a bit, once it gets new eye it will see increase in shear so we have seen the peak of Amphan. This means it will not be the strongest ever. 1999 Odisha Super Cyclone will remain as the strongest ever in Bay of Bengal.
